Internships at The Filson are geared towards eager, hardworking college students from all over the area. Most recently, three students from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky accepted and honored their Filson internships. These students are Megean Kincaid, Rachel Coonce, and Christanna Schuman.

Throughout the year, these three individuals have served as Public Relations interns for The Filson. They worked diligently with various members of the public relations and development staff in an attempt to gain hands-on experience in their desired field of study.

A few of the tasks that the trio completed were writing and submitting press releases, proofreading, taking photographs for the purpose of distribution, and developing scripts and rubrics for educational programming events.

Megean Kincaid Megean Kincaid summed it up best when she stated, “Everyone I came in contact with at The Filson encouraged me in developing the skills needed in the field of public relations. The professional public relations experience I obtained at The Filson will provide a solid foundation when applying both to graduate schools and for future positions in the field.”
